Materials, methods & specifications
PVC — profiles and capacities
Half-round is the standard 112mm profile. Square-line and ogee move more water per metre — recommended for larger roof areas and coastal locations that get heavier downpours. Brett Martin and Floplast are our standard specs.
Aluminium seamless
Site-formed aluminium gutter in continuous lengths with no joints between corners — a 40-year product with a polyester powder coat in any RAL colour. Ideal for larger properties and rear elevations.
Cast iron heritage
Original cast-iron gutter can be repaired and repainted, or replaced like-for-like on listed buildings and conservation areas. Increasingly, cast-aluminium replicas provide the same aesthetic at a fraction of the maintenance.
Downpipes & outlets
Downpipes need to be sized to the gutter and connected to a working gully. We check gullies for blockage as part of the survey and jet clear where needed.
Fascia, soffit & bargeboard
White or woodgrain uPVC fascia and soffit, capped or full-replacement, on aluminium roof edge trim. Ventilation strip fitted where the loft was previously non-ventilated.

Yes — where safe from the same scaffold or tower. We do not high-pressure wash slate or tile as it strips the surface.
How often should gutters be cleaned?+
Annually as a rule, twice yearly on properties with overhanging trees. A single leaf-fall on a mature sycamore can block a run overnight.
Can you replace just a section?+
Yes — matching profile and colour where possible. We advise honestly if a full run replacement is more cost-effective.
Do you fit gutter guards?+
Yes on request, though we advise annual clearing is generally more effective than long-term guard reliance on tree-lined properties.
